New Hotel Manager for Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur

Jochen Schmid has been appointed as Hotel Manager of Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Mr Schmid received his Food & Beverage management training with Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich Germany, completing the three year programme in 1987.

He started his career with Hotel Intercontinental in Paris, France, and later went to work in the United States of America before starting his first Asian assignment in Hong Kong. In his 20 years with the hotel industry, he also had the opportunity to work in Beijing and Hangzhou in China, and he was as well in Malaysia for seven years.
