Millennium & Copthorne International
has promoted Mr. Vincent Yeo to the position of President of Millennium & Copthorne International Limited (Asia
Pacific).
Taking over Mr Yeo's previous position as Chief Operating Officer is Mr.
Daniel Desbaillets, who moves into this role after completing a term as Special Assistant (Hotel Division) to the Chairman, Mr Kwek Leng
Beng.

Mr Vincent Yeo was Managing Director of CDL Hotels New Zealand Ltd from
1993, overseeing the Australian and New Zealand operations of Millennium
& Copthorne Hotels plc. During that time, he was responsible for developing and integrating the hotels into the largest hotel chain in New
Zealand.
In February 1998, he took up the position as Executive Director of
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc with special responsibilities in sales &
marketing, based in London.
In June 2001, he returned to Asia to assume the role of Chief Executive
Officer of City e-Solutions Ltd, a listed subsidiary of City Developments Ltd.
In October 2001, he also assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer Asia
Pacific region for Millennium & Copthorne International Ltd, which he now
will lead as company President. Daniel
Desbaillets Mr Daniel Desbaillets started his career with the Hilton in the early 70's and
in 1979, joined Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts in Abidjan, West Africa.
He became General Manager of the IHC Colombo in 1984 and subsequently, went on to Bangkok and Montreal. In 1992, he joined Shangri-La International to open the chain's hotel in
Jakarta but later rejoined InterContinental Hotels in 1994 to open the InterContinental Hotel Singapore located in the city state's bustling Bugis
Junction. He was soon promoted in 1996, to Regional Vice-President and subsequently to Senior Vice-President later that same year, to be based in
Seoul Korea. In 1997, Mr Desbaillets was appointed as Area President (Asia Pacific) for
InterContinental and Crowne Plaza Hotels. In early 2003, he left InterContinental Hotels to embark on his own business
and soon joined the Hong Leong Group on a six-month assignment as Special Assistant (Hotel Division) to Group Chairman. This short-term
assignment soon evolved into his position today, as Chief Operating Officer
of MCIL. Mr Desbaillets is the epitome of an international hotelier having worked
across 4 continents in Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. His charismatic personality and willingness to constantly strive towards
attaining new heights has made him a well-known and respected personality in the hotel industry. He was awarded Hotelier of the Year in
1999 and has also won numerous other awards throughout his career. |
