A
widely spread new internet virus, spread through email, is rapidly
making its rounds. Symantec a leader in antivirus software has placed
the new virus called MyDoom or Novarg, as a level 4, which is equivalent
to some of the more famous viruses such as Bugbear, Klez and Sobig which
during their peak created havoc with email servers around the world. The
virus has the potential to spoof the senders email address, meaning it
is not always from the person that it appears to be from. The subject
line could be any of the following: test, hi, hello, Mail Delivery
System, Mail Transaction Failed, Server Report, Status, Error. We
encourage you to ensure that your antivirus software protection is up to date,
not to open any attachments that you were not expecting even if you do
think you know the sender and to read
more about this virus on the Symantec website. |
