Japan Airlines to introduce Fuel Surcharges on International Passenger Fares

Japan Airlines is planning to introduce fuel surcharges on international passenger fares on routes out of Japan from January 20 2005, subject to government approval.

The surcharges are based on flight distance and range from 500 yen to a maximum of 2,500 yen.

The airline stated that the surcharges will be lifted if the monthly average price of fuel falls below US$40.00 per barrel.
