Thai Airways International Reports on its Flights Change after Phuket Tsunami

Thai Airways International has reported on its flights change due to temporary service suspension of the Phuket International Airport resulted by the earthquake caused Tsunamis. The service suspension caused no flights taking-off and landing at Phuket International airport between 11:30 – 17:00 hours. THAI’s Phuket flights cancellation is as follows:

* Flight TG203 on the route Bangkok – Phuket departing Bangkok at 09:00 hours returned to Bangkok International Airport at 11:45 hours and was cancelled. Flight TG 204 was also cancelled.

Flights being suspended for the re-opening of Phuket International Airport are as follows: 

* Flight TG209 on the route Bangkok-Phuket departing Bangkok at 10:40 hours.
* Flight TG405 on the route Bangkok-Phuket-Singapore departing Bangkok at 10:45 hours.
* Flight TG129 on the route Chiang Mai-Phuket departing Chiang Mai at 11:15 hours.
* Flight TG213 on the route Bangkok-Phuket departing Bangkok at 14:00 hours.

Later at 14:30 hours, THAI received a report from Phuket International Airport that its service would be active at 16:00 hours allowing THAI’s flights on suspension to be on service. Furthermore, THAI’s evening flights which are TG647, TG221, TG215 and TG225 were due to normally depart Bangkok at 16:45, 18:20, 19:25 and 21:40 respectively.

In addition, THAI also transferred passengers of THAI, AirAsia and other airlines as well as the airline’s staffs remaining at Phuket International Airport to Talang Technical College that is located 2 kilometers far from the airport.

THAI has also closely cooperated with the Crisis Management and Operations Center to arrange large aircraft for passengers awaiting for flights at Bangkok and Phuket.
