Cathay Pacific
announced on Monday the appointment of a number of staff to senior positions of the airline as part of regular management movements within
the company. They will take up their new positions during the summer.
Mr Augustus Tang is appointed Director Corporate Development. Ms Quince
Chong will become Director Service Delivery, and Mr Ron Mathison is appointed
Director and General Manager Cargo.
Mr Tang joined Cathay Pacific in 1982 as a management trainee and has held
several positions with the airline, including postings to Malaysia and Japan. He
has been in his current position Director Corporate Planning since 2000 and is
also a Director of Cathay Pacific Catering Services Hong Kong Limited and Air
Hong Kong.
Ms Chong joined Cathay Pacific in 1998 as Manager Corporate Communication
and was appointed General Manager Inflight Services in August 2000. She has
been a Director of Cathay Pacific Catering Services Hong Kong Ltd since September 2000.
Mr Mathison joined Cathay Pacific in 1984 and has held a number of managerial
positions overseas as well as in marketing and sales and revenue management.
He has been involved in loyalty marketing since January 1995, and launched the
Asia Miles Travel Reward Programme in 1999.
In addition, Cathay Pacific has appointed Mr Peter Langslow as General Manager
Inflight Services; Ms Anna Thompson as General Manager Airports; Mr Philippe de
Gentile-Williams as General Manager Airline Planning; Mr Clement Lam as General
Manager Sales HK & China; Mr Dane Cheng as Regional Manager Japan; Mr
Patrick Yeung as Regional Manager South East Asia; Mr Dominic Purvis as General Manager Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes Ltd and Mr Lionel Kwok
Managing Director Cathay Pacific Holidays Ltd.
Cathay Pacific Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive David Turnbull said, "We are
