Thai Airways International
is adding 12,500 seats on its domestic routenet to cater to the increase in demand during the Loy
Krathong Festival and public holidays in December 2004.
Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAI’s President, said that in response to passenger demand during Loy Krathong Festival, 26-28
November 2004, THAI will add 14 supplementary flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai which can accommodate
2,740 seats or 16.18 percent more than normal capacity of 16,935 seats. During the public holidays, 3-12 December 2004, THAI
will also add supplementary flights and utilize larger aircraft for 48 flights to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Krabi which
can accommodate 9,924 seats or 9.71 percent more than normal capacity of 102,160 seats, as follows:
During Loy Krathong Festival :Increase 8 flights and change to larger aircraft type for 6 flights, at a total of 14 flights
- Bangkok – Chiang Mai : on 26 and 28 November 2004 increase 4 supplementary flights
: Change to larger aircraft type for 2 flights
- Bangkok – Chiang Rai : on 26 and 28 November 2004 increase 4 supplementary flights
: Change to larger aircraft type for 4 flights
During Public Holidays : Increase 34 flights and change to larger aircraft type for 14 flights, at a total of 48 flights
- Bangkok – Chiang Mai : Increase 10 supplementary flights, on 3, 4, 6, 10, and 12 December 2004
: Change to larger aircraft type for 6 flights
- Bangkok – Chiang Rai : Increase 8 supplementary flights, on 4, 6, 10, and 12 December 2004
: Change to larger aircraft type for 4 flights
- Bangkok – Phuket : Increase 8 supplementary flights on 4, 6, 10, and 12 December 2004
: Change to larger aircraft type for 4 flights
- Bangkok – Krabi : Increase 8 supplementary flights on 4, 6, 10, and 12 December 2004
