Thai
AirAsia is to commence a direct non-stop service between Bangkok, Thailand and Kota Kinabalu, the capital state of Sabah in Malaysia.
Scheduled to commence service
October 21, 2004, the new direct service will replace the existing Bangkok – Kota
Kinabalu flight that has a 30 minutes stop over in Johor.
Kota Kinabalu is the capital city of the State of Sabah and is located in the
North Eastern part of Borneo Island. The non-stop route will reduce the travelling time between the two destinations
by half, compared with the previous flight arrangement which took up to
five hours of travel.
Thai AirAsia will offer
one daily service between Bangkok and Kota Kinabalu with
flights leaving Bangkok at 17:20 with a 21:10 arrival. Flights from Kota
Kinabalu leave at 21:40 arriving in Bangkok at 23:30.
A
special launch fare of just Baht 999 or RM 99.99 one way has been
launched. These special fares are only available for internet bookings at
www.airasia.com,
and exclude airport taxes and various fees. Bookings must be made from September 15th to September 30th for travel from October 21st to March 26th 2005.
