The Australian Tourist Commission (ATC)
has appointed Judy Watkins as its new General Manager - Europe.
Ms Watkins is currently the General Manager Sydney Airport for Qantas
Airways where she has direct responsibility for Qantas Airport operations at
Sydney International and Domestic terminals.
At the ATC, Judy will be responsible for managing the new business model
for the ATC's European operations as well as managing Tourism Australia (Europe) -the joint initiative between the ATC and the State and Territory
Tourist Organisations (STOs), that seeks to better align marketing activities
and operations and improve the effectiveness in marketing Australia within
the European markets.
ATC Executive General Manager Western Hemisphere, Andrew McEvoy
said Judy would be a strong addition to the European team and would help
to drive and build the new Tourism Australia (Europe) initiative.
"Judy brings more than 20 years tourism and travel experience to the role -
including work in Asia and Australia and in areas such as marketing, operations and change
management.
"Judy will be responsible for developing new marketing initiatives and
programs for this region as well as managing regional operations in Europe
to ensure integration and alignment between the various STO and ATC teams, offices and representation companies within the European region.
Judy will join the ATC in late May, and will be based at the ATC's London
office.
Prior to joining the ATC, Judy held a number of senior level operational and
sales and marketing roles with Qantas including Country Manager Malaysia,
General Manager Short-Haul Cabin Crew, Regional General Manager A.C.T, Airport Manager South Australia/Northern Territory and Airport Manager
Queensland Airports.
Judy holds a Master of Business Administration from University of
Queensland and a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Technology. |
