Lufthansa has signed a contract with Airbus for a further seven A340-600 long-range aircraft. The German airline already operates 10 aircraft of the type together with 30
A340-300s and a growing fleet of A330-300s. Lufthansa also operates 72 Airbus A320 Family aircraft as well as 17 A300-600 and A310 aircraft.
The German airline also has an order for 15 A380s.
The seven additional A340-600s
ordered by Lufthansa are scheduled for delivery in 2006 and 2007 and will be powered by Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines.

the aircraft type. Airbus is proud to ensure Lufthansa’s expected growth in long-range capacity.”
