         Air Tahiti
Nui announced today the schedule for its new flights from Sydney to
Tahiti and New York, commencing in July next year.
Flight TN 10 will depart Sydney at 8.55am every Monday and Saturday, crossing the international dateline and arriving in Papeete
seven hours later at 7.50pm each Sunday and Friday evening.
The flight will then depart Papeete at 9.00pm for a 12 hour nonstop journey to New York City, arriving at JFK International
        Airport at 3.00pm.
Mr Craig Lee, Regional Director Australia for Air Tahiti Nui, said the new flights would be the only nonstop services between
Australia and Tahiti, arriving in Papeete early evening, and providing passengers with a fresh start the following day to their
        holiday, conference or business trip.
“Our nonstop flights will increase and simplify access from Australia to Tahiti,” said Mr Lee. “Combined with our three current
code share services with Qantas, which operate via Auckland, the new flights will provide much-needed additional seats from
        Australia to Tahiti.”
For those passengers continuing to New York City, there is a transit time of just over one hour in Papeete, providing a
convenient one-stop service from Sydney, said Mr Lee.
And for those who are staying in Tahiti on their way to New York, the 9.00pm departure time enables them to spend a day
relaxing in the islands before taking the evening service to the US east coast.
“Passengers travelling from Papeete to New York will arrive mid afternoon and be in their hotels by early evening, enabling them
to check in then dine out or explore The Big Apple,” said Mr Lee.
“The return flight from New York is also convenient, departing at 5.00pm each Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Papeete 12.5
hours later at 11.45pm, and in Sydney at 6.40am each Saturday and Monday, in time to connect with domestic flights throughout
        Australia.”
Schedule times are subject to Government approval.
