Cathay Pacific Airways today announced it will operate daily to Colombo with the
1 March 2004 launch of a new service to Sri Lanka's capital via Singapore.
The three-times weekly service will be a continuation of an existing Cathay
Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Singapore. It will complement the airline's
existing four-times weekly service to Colombo that operates via Bangkok.
The flight will return from Colombo in time to operate its normal return service
from Singapore to Hong Kong the following morning. Cathay Pacific also operates daily services between Singapore and Bangkok and Singapore and
Jakarta.
Existing Colombo services are particularly popular with cargo customers. The
new service will offer them and the airline's passengers greater flexibility and
choice.
Cathay Pacific Director and Chief Operating Officer Philip Chen said: "With
daily service to Colombo we can provide more connections for both our passenger
and cargo customers and continue to strengthen Hong Kong as a global hub." |
