Arabian Travel Market just keeps getting bigger

Travel News Asia 18 February 2004

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism event, is returning to the recently expanded Dubai World Trade Centre this year from May 4-7. The event is receiving tremendous interest and with three months to go projections indicate a 20 percent larger show than last year.

“Many of our regular destination pavilions have increased the size of their stands to meet the demands of the private sector. Substantial increases have been booked by India, Malaysia, Austria and Sri Lanka,” said Matt Thompson, Group Exhibition Director, Overseas Events, RTE. “Furthermore, we are pleased to welcome back important participants such as France, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Greece and Korea after their brief absence from the show. Regional presence is the strongest to-date with new pavilions from Abu Dhabi, Iran, Libya and development projects within Dubai such as Dubailand.”

Visitor registration for this year’s event have been impressive “Figures so far indicate a very positive feel from the industry” said Vicky Redwood, Marketing Manager, Overseas Events, RTE. “Already figures have substantially over-taken our position compared with this time last year and we hope to sustain this increase over the fourth coming months”.

“Arabian Travel Market is in a very strong position. The event has recorded annual growth since its inaugural event in 1994,” explains Thompson. “Overall early response from both buyers and sellers indicates that this year’s event should be our biggest and best yet”.
