Hilton International
has appointed Paul Harvey as Vice President, Japan and Micronesia. Paul replaces Michael Nigitsch who leaves behind a 22-year career with
Hilton for a position as CEO of Ishin Hotels Group Co., Ltd. Koos Klein,
Hilton International President for Middle East and Asia Pacific, said, “Michael has been instrumental in putting Hilton on a
growth path and signing three additional Hilton properties in the region in
the last two years. The baton is now handed to Paul, whose background in
managing the successful LivingWell business, will be fundamental in accelerating this growth and maximizing further development
opportunities.”
British born, 43 year old Paul has broad international experience in the
hotel industry, predominantly in finance and operations. His work has taken
him to Japan on more than 25 occasions.
In 1997, Paul embarked on his career with the Hilton Group PLC as group
finance manager, working in Asia, Africa and the Americas. In 1999, he was
appointed UK finance director during which time he led the financial integration of Stakis and Hilton in extremely challenging circumstances and
managed the growth of the 80 hotels.
Setting his sights on fresh challenges, Paul moved to managing director of
LivingWell, Hilton's health club division. Under his leadership, the company
expanded its portfolio to 86 clubs, 140,000 members and more than 2,600 staff. He managed the relaunch of the LivingWell brand, doubled the
company’s profit within two years and collected the UK’s fitness industry’s
most prestigious “Flame” award two years in a row.
Paul will begin his role as Vice President, Japan and Micronesia on April 12.
