Singapore Airlines
(SIA) and Lufthansa have expanded
their codeshare agreement.
From 1 December 2004, a total of 77 weekly connections will be
available between Frankfurt and four Spanish cities - Barcelona,
Bilbao, Madrid and Malaga. These codeshare services will be operated by Lufthansa aircraft.
Passengers arriving in Frankfurt on SQ26 will be able to connect
onto daily flights to Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Malaga. On their return
from Spain, they will be able to choose from 49 weekly flights from these
Spanish cities to Frankfurt, where they can connect onto twice-daily services to Singapore on
SIA.
Under the new agreement, Lufthansa will also codeshare on selected SIA
flights between Bangkok and Singapore. These flights will operate once
daily.
SIA and Lufthansa currently operate codeshare services to 28 destinations
worldwide. With the expansion, a total of 33 destinations will be covered
by the agreement. The two airlines first started codeshare operations on 1
July 1998.
