Senior officials from Dubai-based Nakheel, developers of The Palm and The
World, Dubai's awe inspiring residential, leisure and tourism island projects, will
be offering a kilo of gold to race goers this weekend at Newbury, the scene of the
21st running of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Race on July 18th.
Nakheel is giving away two pure gold bars, each valued at approximately 5,000,
in two distinct categories. While the first gold bar will be awarded to the best
dressed woman at the race, the lady with the best hat will be gifted the second
gold bar. A team of judges from Nakheel will be quietly evaluating potential
winners as they enter the event, basing their judgement on the creativity,
innovation and elegance of each fashion ensemble.
Commenting on the prizes, Wahid Attalla, Executive Director of Commercial
Operations for Nakheel, said, "Dubai places great value on the sport of kings and
we believe our prizes should reflect this. This is clearly illustrated each year
during the Dubai World Cup. We wanted to highlight this to the race fans at
Newbury while at the same time conveying the sense of luxury that is synonymous with Nakheel's vision in Dubai, especially when it comes to The
Palm and The World, which have gained great popularity here in the U.K."
Attalla pointed out that if visitors don't win this time, they can either wait till next
year's Dubai International Arabian Horse Race or wait for the opening of The Palm,
Jumeirah's 'Dive Experience' the extensive scuba diving park which is be built
round the outside of The Palm, Jumeirah's breakwater. "Everyday a kilo of gold
will be hidden somewhere within the 'Dive Experience' waiting to be discovered.
Find it and it is yours," promised Attalla.
Nakheel's support Newbury participation comes hot on the heels of its highly
successful London showing, which saw the company sell out its latest development on The Palm, Jumeirah. "The Dubai International Arabian Horse
Race is a fitting finale to what has been an exceptional U.K. visit for
Nakheel."
"Dubai is a very contemporary city, a major regional centre for trade, tourism and
business, and one of the world's perfect models for multi cultural living. We are
also blessed with visionary governance, tax-free benefits, modern infrastructure
and 365 days of sunshine. Living on The Palm will reflect all these advantages, in
addition to the luxury of claiming an island lifestyle. We believe that this
combination will be of great interest to several residents in the UK," Attalla stated.
While in the UK, Nakheel will be promoting their properties at the Carlton Towers,
London on the 18th floor between 10 am and 7 pm, from 12th to 17th July, and
also at the Dubai International Arabian Race Day Exhibition, Newbury Race
Course from 16th to 18th July. |
