Thai Airways International recently signed a License Agreement with the Societe Concessionaire De
L'Aeroport (SCA) for providing Aircraft Technical Handling services to airlines operating to and from Phnom Penh International
Airport and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in Cambodia.
Mr. Kobchai Srivilas,
THAI's Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Planning and Information Technology, said
"for over 40 years, the standard of safety and services rendered by
THAI's Technical Department has been accepted to provide full handling for 28 international airlines at Bangkok International Airport. The dedication and efforts of our highly experienced
personnel is one of the key factors of our success."
The License Agreement
allows THAI to provide both Full Technical Handling and Technical Assistance to international
airlines at Phnom Penh International Airport and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport for 5 years, effective from 8 November,
2004, and can be extended for a further 5 years.
Currently, THAI provides aircraft maintenance services for 8 international airlines out of 14 international airlines operating to
Phnom Penh International Airport. THAI's engineers and technicians will be stationed at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport
to provide Aircraft Technical Handling services to its customer airlines, with Silk Air as the first customer airline at this airport.
