Galileo
International today announced that it has implemented domestic e-ticketing for Bangkok Airways, Thailand's second largest airline.
Bangkok Airways is the first airline in Thailand to offer domestic e-ticketing
through the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Billing and Settlement Plan
(BSP).
"We welcome the decision by Bangkok Airways to commence their
domestic e-ticketing with Galileo," said Janie Kaung, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Galileo's Asia Pacific region. "We have
been especially active in the Indochina markets of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in the past 18 months in terms of signing new airline
customers to Galileo, upgrading the participation levels of existing airline
customers and opening new offices. This latest initiative from Bangkok Airways underlines our continued close involvement in these markets."
Peter Wiesner, Vice President Marketing, Bangkok Airways, added:
"We are delighted to implement domestic e-ticketing in Thailand with Galileo. Bangkok Airways has built a close and productive working
relationship with Galileo and we look forward to the service improvements,
cost savings and efficiencies that e-ticketing for our domestic market on the
Galileo GDS will undoubtedly deliver." |
