Sixty orchestra musicians playing music knee-deep in water feature in the new
British Airways television commercial launched this week in Asia-Pacific.
The 60 and 40 second commercials tell the story of a businessman and his family
at opposite ends of the globe. The man and his family can be seen catching their
British Airways flights to be re-united for a family holiday.
The commercial, created by M&C Saatchi, has been shot in six locations around
the world from New York to Manchester. Throughout the advert orchestra musicians are playing Lakme, British Airways' signature tune, which has been
re-mastered to give it a contemporary feel. The new version was created
especially for the airline by David Arnold, the man famous for the James Bond
music.
Martin George, British Airways' director of marketing and commercial
development, said:
"Our new advert focuses on many of the innovative leading products and services
we offer our customers and shows our commitment to looking after our customers at every stage of their journey.
"With the launch of our new uniform this month, the beginning of our new Club
World sleeper service on selected routes, the continued roll out of innovative self
service check-in kiosks and a range of new facilities at Heathrow's Terminal 1,
now is the right time for us to look to the future and capture the feeling you get
when you travel with British Airways."
The television commercial,
which took 10 months to make, was launched on 11 May and is being run on BBC
World, CNN, Discovery, ESPN, National Geographic and Star Sports. |
