Qantas
has appointed Garry Hounsell as an independent non-executive Director to
its Board.
Mr Hounsell will fill a casual vacancy on the Qantas Board and take up the position on 1 January, 2005.
“As a former Senior Partner of Ernst & Young and Chief Executive Officer and Country Managing Partner of
Arthur Andersen, Garry is a highly regarded expert in the fields of corporate finance, business management,
accounting and auditing,” said Ms Jackson, Chairman of Qantas.
“I am delighted that he is joining the Qantas Board and I believe his appointment will further strengthen the
diversity of experience and corporate skill that the Board offers.”
Mr Hounsell is currently a non-executive Director of Orica Limited and Nufarm Limited.
He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from Swinburne Institute of Technology and is a Fellow of
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Certified Practicing Accountant and a Fellow of The
Institute of Australian Company Directors.
