ANA, Japan Airlines and Meitetsu (Nagoya Railroad) launch joint venture Ground Handling Company

ANA (All Nippon Airways), Japan Airlines (JAL) and Meitetsu (Nagoya Railroad) today announced the name and the formal foundation of a new joint venture company, Chubu Sky Support, to supply ground handling services at the new Chubu International Airport near Nagoya, due to open on February 17 2005.

Chubu Sky Support will handle a wide range of services including aircraft ramp servicing, cargo and baggage handling and aircraft cabin cleaning for customer airlines. All international flights currently operating into the present Nagoya Airport at Komaki will transfer to Chubu.

ANA, JAL and the Nagoya Railroad jointly intend the new company to be highly efficient and cost competitive, while at the same time providing high quality ground handling services to customers from the day the new airport opens.

The ANA Group and the JAL Group are participating in the new company for greater efficiency in the use of equipment, facilities, human resources and assurances of safety. Nagoya Railroad contributes its experience of many years of doing business in the Nagoya region.
