Virgin Atlantic
Airways announced today a range net fares for its award winning Upper Class and Premium Economy Class cabins from a range of
US destinations to London.
“This is the first time we have offered net fares for our Upper Class or
Premium Economy Class to travel agents in Australia,” said Gia
Acitelli, Virgin Atlantic’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Australia.
“With these fares, agents now have net levels for all Virgin Atlantic classes
on flights from the US to London, which they can combine with fares to the
US on any other carrier,” said Ms Acitelli.
“Travel agents also have the opportunity to sell our Upper Class and
Premium Economy Class products to Australian travellers, ahead of our planned introduction this year of daily flights from Sydney to London, via
Hong Kong.”
Upper Class includes an in-flight bar and massage therapy, an extensive
range of video and audio entertainment, electronic games and, increasingly,
the new Upper Class Suite, which includes one of the longest flat beds in Business
Class, incorporating a true mattress rather than just linked together seat
cushions. There is also dedicated check-in and access in London to the Virgin Clubhouse, the carrier’s unique lounge for Upper Class
travellers.
The new net levels for Upper Class are priced at AUD $4470 from New York,
Boston and Washington to London, $4950 from Orlando and Miami to London, $5190 from Los Angeles and San Francisco and $5900 from Las
Vegas. They are available for sale and departures until 31 July, 2004.
For Premium Economy
Class there is also a separate check-in, extensive video, audio
and electronic games options, wider seats and eight inches more legroom than in Economy Class.
The new net fares for Premium Economy Class are priced from AUD $1570
return from New York, Boston and Washington to London, from AUD $1770 from Orlando and Miami to London, and from $1820 from Los Angeles, San
Francisco and Las Vegas to London. They are available for sale and departures until 31 March, 2005.
“We are delighted to be able to offer for the first time in Australia our Upper
Class and Premium Economy Class levels, and we look forward to providing these products daily once we start services from Sydney,” said
Ms Acitelli. “We are now waiting for European Commission approval to launch Sydney – Hong Kong – London flights, and expect a decision will be
made very soon.” |
