World Aviation Systems,
a leading airline representation company in Australia
and New Zealand, has appointed former Air New Zealand executive Lars Olofsson to the new role of National Sales Manager.
Mr Olofsson was previously Sales Manager NSW and ACT for Air New Zealand,
based in Sydney.
In his new role, commencing 16 February, Mr Olofsson will be responsible for
coordinating the national sales effort and promotional activities of the airlines
represented by World Aviation Systems.
He will also manage the NSW sales operations for World Aviation Systems.
The General Manager of World Aviation Systems, Mr Melvyn Almeida, said the
appointment of Mr Olofsson would strengthen the company's effectiveness at a
time when several customer airlines were introducing on-line services and
off-line carriers were intensifying their sales activities in this part of the world.
“Lars brings to World Aviation Systems 15 years experience with Air New
Zealand, and a strong relationship with key retailers and wholesalers in the
Australian market,” said Mr Almeida.
“The airline industry has never been more competitive, and consumers have
never had more choice. In his new role, Lars will be responsible for ensuring that
airlines which World Aviation Systems represents are well known to agents and
wholesalers, and that each of the airlines is competitive in the marketplace.”
