Portugal is set to be the flavour of the month
as European football teams descend on the country for Euro 2004 from 12 June to 4 July 2004.
The football matches will be held at stadiums in eight cities throughout Portugal,
with capital city Lisbon hosting a total of ten games. Football fans have been
rushing to book their seats since the beginning of the year.
To ensure as many football fans as possible can get to Euro 2004, British Airways
is providing 14,000 extra seats on its flights between London and Portugal. The
London Heathrow to Lisbon route is normally operated by a Boeing 757 aircraft,
but will be replaced by a much larger Boeing 747 jumbo jet for the month of June.
