Accor Asia Pacific has launched its newest web site,
www.accortrade.info, designed specifically for the travel trade, including
tour operators, conference organisers and strategic distribution partners.
The web site provides detailed information about Accor Hotels, Resorts and Services in the Asia
Pacific region including:
- Search by location or by map for all Accor hotels in Asia Pacific
- Up-to-date information on each hotel's leisure and MICE facilities, star rating, amenities, images, maps, as well as destination
information
- Request for proposal forms for MICE events in Asia Pacific
- Contact details for Accor's Regional Sales teams
Accor Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing - Asia Pacific, Ray Stone, said the new site allowed the company's
distribution partners to refer clients to print and email specific pages directly from the site, or request hotel images and
download information as PDF files.
"Future enhancements will include translating the site into other languages
- starting with Chinese. Later we will also provide a facility enabling our key distribution partners to download images direct from the site," said Mr Stone.
Mr Stone said that traffic from traditional distribution sources to Accor Reservations Services showed significant increase as a
percentage of the total during the first nine months of 2004 compared with the same period in
2003 and that this trend is expected to continue, highlighting the continued strength of established distribution
channels.
"In an age when the distribution focus of some hotel companies in our industry appears to be almost exclusively on direct
internet sales, Accor is committed to a more balanced approach," he said. "This means that we are quick to adopt the new
technology to enhance our travel trade partnerships, while at the same time improving and expanding our call centres across
Asia.
"The new web site is a strong statement that we are committed to working with our traditional distribution partners, and we
believe that this new portal will significantly benefit the travel trade and make it easier for them to meet their clients' needs."
