The
Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation is to launch its first ever Asia Pacific Low Cost Airline Advertising Awards
which will be presented at the 2nd Annual Asia Pacific Low Cost Airline Symposium 2005 in Singapore on 26-27 January.
The
awards will be presented to the leading Asia Pacific and Middle East Low Cost Airlines in the following categories:
Best Asia Pacific/Middle East Low Cost Airline Print Advertisement
2004
Best Asia Pacific/Middle East Low Cost Airline TV Advertisement 2004
Best Asia Pacific/Middle East Low Cost Airline Radio Advertisement 2004
The Centre’s Managing Director, Peter Harbison, stated “the media has been crucial in the positioning, brand-awareness and
early success of low cost carriers in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. These awards are a timely review of this crucial
component of the low cost airline success story”.
A highlight package of the shortlisted finalists will be screened during the Branding for Low Cost Airlines session on the second
morning of the Symposium, on 27 January 2005. Coverage of the awards will be featured on BBC World Television.
Delegates will vote for their favourite advertisements after the screening. Votes will be tallied and awards announced prior to the
Closing Ceremony.
“We look forward to announcing this year’s most innovative low cost airline advertiser – it should be a highlight in anexciting
programme in Singapore to get 2005 off to a flying start”, said Mr
Harbison.
How to Enter
The Centre is inviting submissions from all low cost carriers and/or their advertising agencies based in the Asia Pacific and
Middle East regions for the awards.
Low cost airlines based outside the Asia Pacific /Middle East region, although not eligible to receive an award, are nevertheless
welcome to submit examples of their advertising for possible inclusion in the highlights package. They will be presented as
examples of low cost airline advertising trends and themes around the world.
