Marriott International
is to manage a 325-room hotel in Nanning, China, under a management agreement reached with Guangxi
Eastern Real Estate Development Co., Ltd.
Currently under construction, the hotel is planned to open in 2006 as the 10th Marriott-branded property and the 45th hotel in
the Marriott International portfolio in China. Hirsch/Bedner Associates is the interior design firm for the hotel.
When opened, the hotel will be named the Nanning Marriott Hotel and will be located in the eastern area of the city’s central
business district. Diagonally across from the hotel will be the Nanning Exhibition Center which will be the permanent seat for the
annual China-ASEAN Expo.
Nanning is the capital city of Guangxi province and is known as “the garden city.” Almost 40 percent of the urban area is
covered by trees and gardens and China’s largest botanic garden is located in the city. Guangxi province has rich mineral, water
and marine resources and is one of the top 10 non-ferrous metal producing areas in China. In recent years, Nanning has become
an international city as China’s gateway to the ASEAN Free Trade Zone.

Nanning and are confident that this sensational hotel will be a welcome addition to the economic and tourism-related
infrastructure of the city.”
For dining and entertainment, the Nanning Marriott will have a lobby lounge, a casual restaurant and a Chinese restaurant
offering 15 private dining rooms. Recreational amenities will include a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool.
Other amenities will feature spacious accommodations with four-fixture bath, an executive level and lounge, a gift shop, a
concierge desk, valet-laundry service, a business center.
For meetings and social events, the hotel will offer 1,150-square meters of flexible conference space including an 800-square
meter ballroom that will be divisible into three sections; a 130-square meter function room that will be divisible into two sections;
two 80-square meter conference rooms; and a 60-square meter board room.
The Marriott
lodging portfolio in China currently has eight hotels under construction including the following:

- 380-room Renaissance Suzhou (2005)
- 580-room JW Marriott Hotel Beijing (2006)
- 310-room The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Beijing (2006)
