Singapore Airlines
(SIA) is offering a new service to customers with the launch of its
enhanced online check-in facility. Travellers can now log on to the SIA website, select the
desired seat from the interactive seat map, and then receive an email or short message service
(SMS) with the check-in confirmation.
SIA frequent flyers (PPS Club and KrisFlyer members) and
registered users of the SIA website can return to their check-in records to change their seats or cancel their check-in.
This service is currently available for all SIA flights with the exception
of flights from some cities in Asia. Customers can check-in up to nine
passengers at a time on the same reservation.
This enhancement of the Internet check-in facility is in addition to the
suite of mobile services SIA offersing to its customers. Frequent flyers,
registered users of the SIA website as well as customers who make bookings
via the SIA website can subscribe for flight alerts via email and
SMS, informing them of check-in availability, flight departure and other
important flight information while on the move.
