Earlier this year Robin Daubeny became one of a select group of
Australians - Robin was asked to speak at the prestigious Million-Dollar Round Table in the USA, sharing the stage with speakers such as Colin Powell,
Sir Richard Branson and Barbara Bush. He is one of only three Australians who have had this
honour.
Now
visitors have the chance to hear Robin Daubeny at AIME 2005, 13th AsiaPacific Incentive and Meeting Expo, in February in
Melbourne. Robin is one of three speakers participating in the ICMI Speakers Showcase. The Showcase provides a snapshot of
some of Australia’s most talented speakers and gives conference and incentive organizers a chance to preview speakers first
hand.
After leaving school at 14 to work in a Port Melbourne factory, Robin joined the Richmond Amateur Cycling Club and was
selected in the 1960 Olympic training squad. He missed Olympic selection and turned professional in March 1960 when aged 21.
Robin raced as a professional for 14 years and won major events on track and road in all states of Australia, including 27
professional track championships. He was then selected as the Motivator to the Australian World Professional Cycling Team.
Robin’s motivation skills have been tried and tested in many Australian Football League clubs. On thirty-one occasions Robin
has addressed a sporting group suffering a run of losses, and the next day the team has won. In 1997 Robin worked extensively
with the St Kilda Football Club to create St Kilda’s best season in decades. In 2002 he worked with North Melbourne. The team
had slipped to eleventh on the league ladder and looked like missing the finals. They called on Robin to help them make the
eight. They finished sixth.
Robin Daubeny was the Top Insurance Sales Manager in Australia. He has built three Sales Teams from scratch with the teams
becoming the Top Performers in Australia. He was selected as National Mutual Sales Manager of the Year on seven occasions,
the only person to win the award more than once. He was also runner-up seven times. Robin now consults to a wide variety of
professional industries full-time.
Robin Daubeny can be heard at the ICMI Speakers Showcase, from 8.00am to 9.45am on Wednesday 23 February at AME 2005.
AIME will include 800 exhibitors from 45 countries and is expected to attract more than 2,800 visitors.
