Dragonair is to increase freighter frequencies to Shanghai and Osaka from June
15 and June 18, respectively, while Nanjing will be added to its dedicated cargo
network for the first time from June 18. The additional flights are being introduced
following the wet-lease of an A300B4 freighter.
Freighter services to Shanghai will double to 12 a week, up from the present six,
while those to Osaka will increase to three a week, up from two. Nanjing, located in
the manufacturing hub of the Yangtze River Delta, will be served by one flight a
week.
"The increased frequencies to Shanghai and Osaka will allow us to provide more
options for shippers to these important cities, while the addition of Nanjing gives
us even greater access to the booming manufacturing bases around the Yangtze
River Delta area," said Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hui.
"We believe Nanjing has considerable potential for cargo given its location, and
based on our experience of carrying cargo in the belly of our passenger services
there."
Nanjing will become the eighth destination in Dragonair's cargo network and its
third in the Mainland after Shanghai and Xiamen.
The A300B4 freighter, which has a capacity of 40 tonnes, is on a wet-lease from
US-based Express.Net Airlines, LLC for a period of one year. |
