Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts
recently announced the following new appointments.
Barbara Pang
has
been appointed as vice president – sales and marketing. Based at the Island Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong and
reporting to Gerhard Petrowitsch, senior vice president, Barbara will direct the
marketing activities for 12 of the group’s hotels in Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the two hotels in Kota Kinabalu.
Prior to her current appointment, Barbara, a graduate of Cornell University,
held senior marketing positions at various five-star hotels in Hong Kong and
has previously worked in both operations and marketing at Kowloon Shangri-La and Island Shangri-La.
Brendan Inns has been promoted to vice president –corporate marketing from
director of corporate marketing – a position he has held for three years. He will
continue to be responsible for the brand management of the group including
image advertising, corporate collateral, loyalty marketing, partnership marketing and tactical promotions under the direction of Carmen Lam, group
director of sales and marketing.
Previously, Brendan spent 14 years with Hyatt International, working in senior
sales and marketing positions in mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and
Australia, and he was the opening director of marketing at the Grand Hyatt
Shanghai in Pudong from 1997 – 2000.
Also based at Shangri-La's corporate office in Hong Kong and reporting to
Carmen Lam, Melanie Foo-Tiplady has been appointed as director of global
business development. Melanie was most recently the group marketing manager of the Marco Polo Hotel Group for three years and prior to that she
was the director of marketing at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
In her new role, Melanie will seek to increase Shangri-La's market share of
major corporate accounts and work closely with the group’s 12 regional sales
offices. |
