Qatar Airways to fly to Singapore, Vienna and Cebu

Qatar Airways is to add Singapore, Vienna and Cebu in the Southern Philippines to its worldwide route network later this year, as it prepares to begin new services to Shanghai, Seoul and Tripoli.

"As one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, we are very excited about adding these six important services to our route network. With the addition of these new destinations we will be flying to 48 destinations worldwide," Qatar Airways' Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Al Baker said.

"Having previously announced Shanghai and Seoul as new destinations in the Far East, and Tripoli in Libya, we are very proud to be able to add a further three destinations in such a short space of time.

"Vienna will be our ninth destination in Europe, and with Cebu and Singapore we will be reaching eight destinations in the Far East," he said.

The thrice-weekly services to Vienna, via Munich, will start on November 19, 2003. The Cebu flight, via Singapore, will start on December 10, 2003. The Shanghai and Seoul service will start on October 28, 2003, with Tripoli being effective from November 9, 2003. All these services are scheduled for three weekly departures.

"Qatar Airways is aiming to bring its renowned customer service to more and more passengers worldwide. Within the next two years we will be extending our route network to 60 international destinations," Mr. Al Baker added.

Flights to Vienna will leave Doha on Wednesdays and Fridays at 01:50 hrs, arriving in Munich at 06:20 hrs, continuing on at 07:20 hrs and arriving at Vienna International Airport at 08:25 hrs. The third weekly flight to Vienna leaves Doha on Thursdays on flight QR003, leaving Doha at 12:45 hrs, arriving in Munich at 17:15 hrs, continuing on at 18:15 hrs and arriving in Vienna at 19:20 hrs.

Return flights will leave Vienna on Wednesdays and Fridays on QR010 at 09:50 hrs, arriving in Munich at 10:55 hrs, continuing on at 11:55 hrs and arriving at Doha International Airport at 19:40 hrs local time. On Thursdays QR004 leaves Vienna at 20:20 pm, arriving in Munich at 21:25 hrs, continuing on at 22:25 hrs and arriving in Doha at 06:10 hrs the next morning. The aircraft used for the Vienna flight will be the wide-bodied Airbus A300-600.

Flights to Singapore and Cebu on QR638 will leave Doha on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 22:30 hrs, arriving in Singapore Changi Airport at 11:00 hrs the following morning, continuing on to Cebu at 12:15 hrs and arriving at Cebu Airport at 16:00 hrs.

Return flights will leave Cebu Airport on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays on QR639 at 02:15 hrs, arriving in Singapore at 06:00 hrs, continuing on at 07:30 hrs and arriving back at Doha International Airport at 10:30 hrs local time. The aircraft used for this flight will also be the Airbus A300-600.

The flights to Shanghai and Seoul will leave Doha on Tuesdays at 08:45 hrs (QR888), arriving in Shanghai at 22:15 hrs. The connection to Seoul will leave Shanghai at 23:15 hrs, arriving in Seoul at 01:50 hrs the next morning. Direct return flights (QR889) from Seoul will leave on Wednesday morning at 03:00 hrs, arriving back at Doha International Airport at 08:10 hrs local time.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, flights QR888 will be leaving Doha at 23:59 hrs, arriving in Shanghai at 13:15 hrs the next day. The connection to Seoul will leave Shanghai at 14:25 hrs, arriving in Seoul at 17:05 hrs. Return flights will leave Seoul on Thursdays and Sundays on QR889 at 21:50 hrs, arriving at Shanghai at 22:35 hrs, before continuing on to Doha at 23:50 hrs and arriving at Doha International Airport at 05:20 hrs the next morning.

The aircraft used for the Shanghai and Seoul route will be the Airbus A330-200.

Flights to Tripoli will leave Doha on Mondays on QR552 at 12:15 hrs, arriving in Tripoli at 16:55 hrs, and on Tuesdays and Sundays flights (QR550) will leave at 00:35 hrs, arriving in Tripoli at 05:15 hrs.

Return flights will leave Tripoli on Tuesdays at 02:10 hrs (QR553), arriving in Doha at 08:10 hrs and a further flight will leave Tripoli at 15:30 hrs (QR551), arriving in Doha at 21:30 hrs. On Sundays, flights will leave Tripoli on QR551 at 15:30 hrs, arriving at Doha International Airport at 21:30 hrs.
