New Resident Manager at Dar Al Sondos Apartments - Dubai

Travel News Asia 7 October 2003

Following the appointment of Le Meridien to take over operations at the Dar Al Sondos Apartments, Pierre Aoun has been recruited by the group as resident manager at the Bur Dubai complex.

The 144-unit property is in the final stages of a complete refurbishment, following which it will be renamed as Dar Al Sondos Hotel Apartments by Le Meridien. This will give the luxury hotel group additional all-suite accommodation in the heart of the city to complement the deluxe offering at Al Sondos Suites by Le Meridien.

A German national trained in Beirut, Aoun has gained experience in a number of global hotel chains both in the Middle East and Europe, and he comes to Dubai from Doha where he was director of rooms at the Doha Marriott Gulf Hotel.

This is Aoun’s second posting to Dubai, having formerly acted as front office manager at a five-star creek hotel, and he is delighted to be back in the emirate.

“With a wholesale refurbishment programme underway, this is an ideal opportunity to show that there’s a gap in the market in Dubai for quality accommodation at prices that fit the sector,” he said.

“With Le Meridien branding, guests can have confidence they will receive quality services and accommodation – and our location in the heart of the city is one that will be much sought after by both executive travellers and leisure groups.”

Fluent in Arabic, English, German and French, Aoun will also be hoping to indulge in his passion for sport and motor racing while in Dubai.
