Online
pre-registration for trade visitors GITEX 2003, the Middle
East's largest and most important IT trade exhibition, commenced today
September 6th at www.GITEX.com. The service is open for IT trade professionals interested in
the exhibition that runs from October 19th to 23rd, 2003 in Halls 1-8 as well as
the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Hall.
"Our computerized pre-registration process is designed to ease overcrowding
at the registration desks during the show and enables us to effectively monitor
the interest the event is generating among IT professionals throughout the
region even before the show," said DWTC General, Manager Exhibitions, Leasing and Property, Abdulla T.
Qassem.
He noted that online pre-registration enables a fast-track entry for trade
visitors to the exhibition and eliminates the need for long queues.
"GITEX over the years has evolved into the perfect business and
technological platform for the IT industry making it an international brand
renowned for stimulating regional and international trade and it always attracts a tremendous visitor response," remarked Mr.
Qassem.
"We encourage those planning to attend the event, to register in advance to
guarantee quick access to the show," he added.
Pre-registration is limited to trade professionals only. College and university
students who wish to visit the exhibition must show valid identification and
pay the applicable fees offline.
Online registration at GITEX is the norm and roughly 8,000 trade visitors
pre-registered through the online service in 2002. Last year's edition attracted
more than 65,000 visitors in total.
As
with any such exhibition the success of GITEX depends largely on the quality of visitors attending the
event. A series of visitor promotion measures are ongoing by DWTC to maximise attendance, which effectively generates business opportunities for
exhibitors.
GITEX Dubai is the region's premier IT exhibition, and this year it is expected
to feature the participation of more than 1,600 companies representing more
than 37 countries. With a solid mix of local, regional and international IT
product and service providers, the exhibition also serves as the key launch
pad for new technologies and product launches in the region.
While the main exhibition is focussed largely on trade professionals,
consumers looking to purchase computer equipment and electronic gadgetry
can do so at the GITEX Computer Shopper, that takes place at Airport Expo
Dubai between 18th and 24th of October 2003. GITEX Computer Shopper, the
retail component of GITEX, targets those seeking to purchase equipment for
their personal use. |
