Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts
has announced the appointment of Michael Cottan as general manager of its first hotel in Australia.
The group signed a
management agreement with GIC Real Estate Pte Ltd in March for the
561-room ANA Harbour Grand Hotel Sydney, which will be rebranded as
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney on 1 July.
Cottan moved to Sydney from the general manager and area manager
position at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur where he oversaw the renovation of the
hotel and was responsible for Shangri-La's west Malaysian properties and its newest hotel, Shangri-La Hotel,
Putrajaya.
British national Cottan joined the group in 1993 and has held general
management and senior positions at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai; Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong; Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya; and
Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta. |
