Thai Airways International
has announced its support of APEC 2003, hosted by Thailand, through placement of the APEC logo on
THAI’s aircraft and in the airline’s publications.
THAI has placed the “APEC
Thailand 2003” logo on the airline’s Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which operates
to several destinations in Europe. Through placement of the APEC 2003 logo on THAI’s aircraft, THAI effectively aids in promoting the Thai-held
APEC forum to an international audience.
In addition, THAI is providing the following support of the APEC forum:
*
Inflight documentary on APEC to be shown on board THAI’s aircraft, on all
international flights.
* Promotion of APEC in THAI’s inflight magazines “Kinnaree” and
“Sawasdee” and in THAI’s internal publications.
* Promotion of the APEC logo in THAI’s other channels of communication,
such as on passengers’ inflight meal boxes and on THAI’s airline ticket
holders, including print and advertisement materials used in domestic and
international publicity.
* Printing of images and messages to welcome APEC participants, placed on
THAI’s fleet of company vehicles, those being THAI limousines and employee buses.
As for air travel support, THAI has arranged special fare tickets for
representatives from the government and private sector traveling to attend
the APEC forum, such as the senior level APEC meeting in Thailand that will
take place in Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, and Phuket.
It is anticipated that APEC 2003, hosted by Thailand, will successfully boost
the level of support of issues beneficial to developing countries, such as
free trade and investments for developed countries that are members of APEC by year 2010, in order to expand product and service markets for
APEC members whose economies are currently developing – which also includes Thailand. As well, efforts will include developing small and medium
size enterprises, economic and educational cooperations beneficial to members’ further development, boosting newly initiated negotiations with
international trade organizations, and economic development that supports
computer technology and modern communications.
Currently, 21 member countries make up the Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation (APEC), those being Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Canada, Chili, Peoples’ Republic of China,
Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Taiwan, and the United States of America. |
