Novotel Surabaya Hotel and Suites is
one of the first business hotels in Indonesia to offer guests Wi-Fi connectivity
in an endeavor to cater to its growing corporate clientele and meetings market.
Starting from 6 November guests with wireless cards will be able to use this
facility freely, and the hotel will also provide wireless cards for users
without them. Cards will be available for 42,500 rupiah (US$5) a day from
the business centre.
Internet connectivity initially will be available in most areas of the
hotel, including selected rooms and apartments, hotel lobby, restaurant,
ballroom and even in the landscaped gardens and pool area.
Guests with laptops or wireless connected PDA’s can browse the Internet
and check their email without the restriction of cables and dial-up procedures.
General Manager Novotel Surabaya Hotel and Suites, Dennis Oldfield, said:
“Given the extensive meeting facilities in the hotel together with the
profile of our corporate customers, we see a great opportunity and need to
offer our guests the latest communication advantage.
“Whether here for business or to take advantage of our outstanding leisure
and resort facilities, guests will have complete mobility. They will no longer
be restricted to their room, or business centre, when needing to connect
with the Internet.
“Of course as technology has advanced the options available to users have
increased including the use of wireless connectivity – but Wi-Fi is little
known in Indonesia up to this point.”
Accor hotels
currently offering Wi-Fi technology in Asia include Novotel Century Hong
Kong, Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, Novotel Ambassador Gangnam and Novotel Ambassador
Doksan. Additional hotels around the region are also planning to add wireless connectivity
in the coming months. |
