The St. Regis Shanghai launches 'Vision of Hope' charity event for Christmas

This festive season, in its efforts to build up awareness of the children in need of medical needs and treatments in Shanghai, The St. Regis Shanghai’s theme for Christmas and Year End celebration is “Vision of Hope”.

In conjunction with City Weekend Magazine, The St. Regis Shanghai is inviting children between the ages of 5 to 13 to contribute paintings depicting Shanghai or their lives to the magazine. The paintings will be judged by readers and editors of the magazine based on originality, expression and composition. The winning pieces will be on display at The St. Regis Shanghai from the middle of November until 5th December 2003. During this period, the public can purchase the paintings. Funds collected will be donated to Friends of Hope Shanghai charity.

“Painting is a good way for children to creatively express their thoughts and experiences. We hope to take this opportunity to invite the public or private corporation to help needy children with medical treatments as the year approaches an end, giving these children a Vision of Hope for their future”, commented Mr. Charles Abbott, General Manager of The St. Regis Shanghai.
