The 26th PATA Travel Mart closed in Singapore today bound for Bangkok in
2004, Kuala Lumpur in 2005 and Hong Kong in 2006.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Mart has been held in Singapore
every year since 1998 and now resumes an annual rotation, starting with Bangkok (Queen Sirikit Centre) September 22-24, 2004.
PATA President and CEO Mr. Peter de Jong, hailed Singapore as a great host
and thanked the Singapore Host Committee for six years of magnificent support.
“Singapore has been generous, efficient and proactive throughout our six
year stay. Singapore has been exemplary as a travel and tourism ambassador,
not just for itself, but for the whole region through its unbending support for
the Mart.
“The hosts, especially Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Airlines and the
Singapore Hotel Association’s continued support of PATA have been a great
example to the industry,” he said.
“Our horizon now shifts to Bangkok where we will consolidate and grow upon
the great success of this year’s Mart.”
The 190 travel buyers who attended PATA Travel Mart 2003 met with 213 seller
organisations from 33 countries. Net booth space at this year’s Mart was 2,325
sqm, up 56.5 percent on last year’s Mart. |
