Amadeus,
a leading global distribution system (GDS) and travel industry technology provider, announced today that it has been selected as a winner of
the 2003 best intranet design awards by leading world-renowned web experts
Nielsen Norman Group. Nearly 100 top intranet sites across the world were
reviewed for the contest out of which ten winners were chosen for best usability and design.
"This award demonstrates how our technological expertise not only benefits
our customers, but is used to enhance our internal employee communication,
knowledge management and workflow. We place great emphasis on the usability of our intranet to manage the daily distribution of large amounts of
information and documents that need to be securely and readily accessible in
real time to our people in over 200 markets around the globe", said Hans-Henning
Quast, Vice President Human Resources at Amadeus.
"This is an encouraging recognition of the quality of our approach and the
time we invest in the on-going development of our intranet", added Quast.
The ten winners of the contest include the multinational Chevron Texaco, the
German-based Fujitsu Siemens Computers, and the US bank Wachovia Corporation. The detailed review and analysis of the winning intranets has
been published in Nielsen Norman Group's report "Intranet Design Annual 2003: The 10 Best Intranets of the Year."
