Dubai Internet City Zone to feature 40 Companies at GITEX 2003

Travel News Asia 30 September 2003

Dubai Internet City's (DIC's) presence at GITEX 2003, will be four times larger than last year and far more comprehensive this time around, with many of the world's leading IT companies exhibiting under their umbrella in the Dubai Internet City Community Zone which is situated in the new Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Hall.

Building on the considerable success at GITEX 2002, when their pavilion featured 10 companies, DIC stated that this year's Community Zone would feature a far larger number of partnering exhibitors.

"We are pleased that DIC's presence has grown incrementally at this year's GITEX," said Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Director General, Mubarak bin Fahad. "GITEX 2003 is poised to break all previous records in terms of number of exhibitors, gross floor space, participating countries and overall reach. The DIC has been one of our prominent exhibitors in recent years and their increased presence at this year's show is symbolic of the enhanced stature of the event in the IT circles worldwide and the Middle East region in particular," remarked Mr. bin Fahad.

"Dubai Internet City's Community Zone at this year's GITEX will showcase 40 of our partners," said Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Dubai Internet City. "This is the biggest participation by any organisation at the event. By being part of the Community Zone, DIC companies will have several opportunities to network and build business alliances with high-profile regional and international companies. The DIC cluster has grown tremendously since last GITEX to become a community of more than 550 companies that includes many of the world's leading ICT companies. The new Community Zone at GITEX reflects the diversity and richness of this growth," he added.

DIC Community Zone will consist of a cross-section of information and communication technology (ICT) companies ranging from software development, business services, web-based & e-commerce, consultancy, education and training, sales and marketing to back office operations, who will be exhibiting their wares in a spectacularly designed new stand.

GITEX 2003 will feature all facets of the Information Technology industry. With more than 35,000 square metres of gross exhibition space already sold in eight interconnected halls, the event is set to be the biggest ever.

GITEX this year will showcase an entire range of IT related products and services with a significant focus on e-business and e-commerce solutions. Other products include uninterrupted power supply solutions, desktop publishing, digital imaging & information management Internet products, mobile computing & WAP technology, networking & business communication, office automation, computer hardware and many others.
