Travel News Asia 30 June 2003

United Airlines today announced that it will reinstate certain Pacific flights cancelled due to the SARS related drop in demand while increasing the frequency of other flights to Asia. In all, United will offer 3,349 mainline and United Express flights in August.

Effective August 1, United will make the following changes to its international flight schedule:

- Reinstate service between Chicago O’Hare and Hong Kong International Airport with four flights per week.

- Increase service between Chicago O’Hare and Beijing Airport to three flights a week, up from two in July.

- Begin offering daily flights between San Francisco International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport, up from three flights a week in July.

- Begin offering daily flights between San Francisco International Airport and Shanghai Airport, up from five flights a week in July.

"As business and leisure travel to Asia continues to increase, United’s new August schedule offers customers more flights and more convenient schedules for destinations across the Pacific." said John Tague, executive vice president - Customer.
