Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has topped the Best Business Hotel Brand in Asia-Pacific category for the third consecutive year in the Business Traveller
Asia-Pacific readers' poll.
In addition, the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore was
awarded the prestigious Best Individual Business Hotel in the World, the Best
Individual Business Hotel in Asia-Pacific and Best Business Hotel in Singapore, whilst the Makati Shangri-La won the Best Business Hotel in
Manila and the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur won the Best Business Hotel
in Kuala Lumpur.
Conducted among the magazine's readership of frequent travellers based
mainly in the Asia-Pacific region, the poll was distributed to a total of 9,907
subscribers. Results were compiled by market research company NFO WorldGroup
Hong Kong and will be published in the October 2003 issue of Business Traveller Asia-Pacific.
Former President Mr Fidel V. Ramos of the Republic of the Philippines presented the awards to the winners at a charity award luncheon in Hong Kong and nominated the Ramos Peace and Development Foundation, Inc and the Hospital Authority Charitable Foundation of Hong Kong as his preferred
charities.
Commenting on the awards, Peggy Teo, publisher of Business Traveller Asia-Pacific, said: 'The subscribers of the magazine are among the most knowledgeable, experienced and committed travellers in the region. For Shangri-La to perform so outstandingly in the readers' poll three years running is a real tribute to excellence as well as remarkable consistency.'
