Singapore Airlines became the world’s second largest Boeing
777 operator and largest non-U.S. 777 operator this week with the delivery of its 50th 777.
The airplane, a 777-200ER, joins 41 other 777-200s and eight 777-300s in the
Singapore Airlines’ fleet. Singapore Airlines first ordered the 777 in 1995 when
the airline placed a firm order for 28 of the world’s largest twin jets.
Singapore
Airlines continued to add firm orders in subsequent years and has now ordered 59 Boeing 777s to date. |
