The Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) in its initiative to promote the emirate's
MICE sector will bring in the annual Wurth Congress, in September 2003 (6th Sep-16th Sep) to the
emirate.
The Wurth Congress 2003, which takes place in Jumeirah Beach,
will attract more than 1,200 delegates form 82 countries.
Wurth is a German based company dealing in tools. The delegates will be
visiting the emirate in two groups. The first group will be in the emirate
between 6th to 10th September and the other one will be from 11th to 16th
September.
In charge of the DCB, Awadh Al Seghayer who met the organisers of the
event appeared confident and upbeat about the department's latest initiative.
"This is a big leap forward for Dubai in further cementing ties with Germany.
We are confident that this event will help in increasing awareness of Dubai's
attractions as a top class destination among the world's MICE travelers,"
said Mr. Al Seghayer.
He noted that such meetings would do wonders for Dubai's MICE industry,
which is on the threshold of a boom. "These kinds of events will open doors
for other major organizations all over the world to opt Dubai as their host
venue for meetings and conferences," said Mr. Al Seghyer.
He noted that the huge number of delegates attending the Congress is an
indication about the strength of the company. "The fact that more than 1,200
officials from 82 countries will be present in the emirate to attend the
meeting, speaks about the credentials of the company in Germany as well as
internationally," said Mr. Al Seghayer.
Commenting on Dubai's MICE industry, Mr. Al Seghayer stated that the
emirate is serious in its commitment to take this sector to new heights:
"Dubai fits neatly into the MICE travel organisers' ideal profile of 'somewhere
new and different' as it combines exotic experiences and excitement with
professional state-of-the art infrastructure and top quality hotels". |
