Effective July 1, 2003, the KLM Junior Jet Lounge at Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol will employ childminders to entertain children between the ages of
5 and 12 traveling with their parents.
The younger set will draw and play with
Lego under the supervision of KLM staff, while older children will have access to computer games and video films. This new, paid service, jointly
initiated by KLM and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is not just open to KLM
passengers, but to all those traveling with children aged 5 to 12.
The KLM Junior Jet Lounge was previously the exclusive domain of young
KLM passengers traveling without adult supervision.
The childminder service will be available for the duration of the summer. If it
proves popular, KLM said it will become a permanent fixture at Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol. The service will cost EUR 15 per child staying less than 2 hours,
and EUR 25 per child staying longer than 2 hours. The KLM Junior Jet Lounge is located on the Holland Boulevard, the walkway linking E and F
Piers. |
