The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's
(DTCM) Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) has become a member of International
Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
Calling it a great accomplishment, In Charge of DCB, Awadh Al Seghayer
said that joining ICCA has put Dubai among the top players in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) sector. "With over 650
member organisations and companies in 80 countries, ICCA provides a worldwide network of meeting professionals, experts in all aspects of
hosting and organising congresses and conventions. ICCA offers its members unique opportunities to access comprehensive meetings data, to
exchange business leads and meet and interact with potential clients," said
Mr. Al Seghayer.
He stated that the meeting industry expanded even more rapidly than
foreseen and Dubai in order to maintain the similar pace has developed and
upgrade its meetings, conferences facilities matching to the international
standards. "We will not only be able to showcase Dubai facilities to wide
section of audience and clients but will also be able to discuss the fast
paced changes in technology. We can also deliberate how the economic changes occurring in the world can help drive long term growth. These
issues are vital to future business decisions," said Mr. Al Seghayer.
DCB was officially opened on
29 March 2003, which will complement the department's on-going efforts to boost the emirate's MICE sector and to
promote the facilities and provisions of the Dubai Convention Centre. It
supports all the convention hotels and venues of Dubai by marketing their
facilities regionally as well as internationally and bids on behalf of Dubai at
the international events. |
