Travellers visiting London can now make a contribution to protecting the
environment by renting the emission free Ford TH!NK City car from Hertz.
The world’s largest car rental company is now offering a number of the
environment friendly electric vehicles from its inner city branch at Marble
Arch. Purpose built for city use, Ford TH!NK City is charged by simply being
plugged into an ordinary household socket.
The vehicle, which reaches a top speed of approximately 56 miles per hour,
offers an additional bonus to Middle East visitors to London, since all
electric cars are exempt from the £5 London Congestion Charge valid from
February 17, and from parking fees in certain London boroughs.
“As the world’s largest car rental company and a subsidiary of the Ford
Motor Company, it is fitting that Hertz is involved with Ford to provide an
environmentally-friendly solution to the problem of city traffic congestion.”
Neil Cunningham, Hertz UK General Manager, comments.
Meanwhile Hertz Sweden has recently been awarded an ISO 14001
Environmental Management System Certificate reflecting the company’s commitment to managing its operations in accordance with applicable
environmental legislation and regulations. |
