Ten-year long service awards were also presented to the Hertz international
franchisees in Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. Ahmad Aayyash received the award on behalf of Transworld Company, the Hertz
franchisee in Kuwait, just a week after joining the company as general manager.
The annual meeting, staged at the Gezirah Sheraton in Cairo, consisted of a
series of lively business sessions and workshops designed to reinforce the
relationship between Hertz and its Middle East franchisees and simplify working processes, policies and procedures.
“The discussions were extremely constructive,” said Richard Hillman,
Director, Franchise Operations, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. “We
identified a number of key areas in which we can work more closely together
towards the overall goals of further enhancing the already very high quality
of Hertz car rental services across the Middle East, and increasing our market share in the region.”
During the week, Mr Mohey El Din Rawhey, chairman of Hertz Egypt, staged
a reception at his home for the regional franchisees and representatives of
Hertz Europe who proudly showed him the 2003 Business Traveller Middle East award for the best car rental company in the Middle East.
“We won the Business Traveller award for the first time earlier this year, and
we wanted Mr Rawhey to see the trophy as his company is our longest-serving partner in the Middle East, and so important to our
operations there,” said Hillman.
He added: “We’re committed to providing the best and most innovative car
rental services in the Middle East, and to further expanding our operations in
the region. Our plans include more new Hertz branches, bigger car rental
fleets with a wider choice of new models, and even better service.”
Since starting operations in 1979 with a centrally located office in Cairo’s
Garden City area, Hertz Egypt has consistently increased its car rental fleet
to meet a steady demand from the local and international markets.
The current Hertz fleet mix covers a full range of vehicles, from economical
compact VW Polos, to mid-sized sedans and specialised 4WD’s and mini vans. Chauffeur drive is a highly popular option with all vehicles, while
prestige vehicles are available for both short trips, and full-day rentals.
The company’s network of car rental locations, initially concentrated on
five-star hotels, has also spread to keep pace with the rapidly developing
tourist industry in the Red Sea region, as well as locations throughout Greater Cairo. |
