The Palm
projects in Dubai recently played host to a dinner for participants of the 'Dredging
and Reclamation' conference held in Dubai by the International Association
of Dredging Companies (IADC). The dinner, which was held on the viewing terrace of The Palm Sales Centre, concluded the week-long conference.
From the dinner venue delegates were able to enjoy an uninterrupted view
over The Palm, Jumeriah, which is nearing reclamation completion. Each of
The Palms will comprise of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock
and sand and take approximately two years each to be fully reclaimed.

The conference delegates came from the Gulf, India, Far East and Europe
and included key staff and decision makers of Port Management and Public
Authorities. The aim of the conference was to help these executives understand the need for dredging, the process by which the decision to
dredge is reached and how a dredging project is implemented.
The IADC dredging course has been going for 11 years now and has
previously been held in the Netherlands, Singapore, Argentina and Egypt. |
